Ternakin recently welcomed a special visit from students of the National University of Singapore (NUS) as part of a field study program facilitated by Jumpstart Disruptive Innovations (JDI). The visit took place at one of Ternakin’s partner farms, which showcases urban fish farming and intensive aquaculture systems—offering students firsthand insight into Indonesia’s growing aquaculture technology landscape.

Inspiring Youth Interest in Aquaculture
Seeing the enthusiasm of these students toward modern fish farming was a proud moment. In an industry currently dominated by older generations, the presence of young people interested in aquaculture signals new hope for its future sustainability.

Aquaculture: A Pillar of Indonesia’s Food Security
For decades, agriculture and fisheries have been vital pillars of Indonesia’s economy and food security. However, industry transformation and generational renewal remain pressing challenges.
That’s where digital technology and operational standardization come in. Ternakin is committed to bridging this gap by offering data-driven solutions that enhance efficiency, transparency, and accessibility for both new and experienced fish farmers.
Ternakin’s Mission: Making Aquaculture a Career of the Future
We believe that tech-enabled aquaculture is not only key to sustainability but also a promising career path for the next generation. Through hands-on learning like this visit, Ternakin hopes to inspire more youth to see aquaculture as an innovative and impactful industry worth exploring.
Thank You, NUS & JDI
We extend our sincere thanks to the students of the National University of Singapore and the team from Jumpstart Disruptive Innovations for visiting. We hope this experience marks the beginning of cross-border collaboration in advancing aquaculture innovation across Asia.
Let’s build a smarter, more inclusive, and sustainable future for aquaculture—together.
